City of Grand Island no longer to process or mail handicapped parking permit applications

            GRAND ISLAND, Neb. —The City of Grand Island informs residents that the processing of handicapped permit parking applications, including verifying proof of identity and mailing, will no longer be provided by the Finance Department.  

            Residents can get handicapped permit applications online at https://www.nebraska.gov/apps-DMV-HCPermits/ or from a medical provider. The applicant will need to fill out the top portion of the application, with the medical portion being completed by their medical office.

            Completed applications can be mailed to:

               Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles
               Attn: Handicapped Parking Permits
               PO Box 94789
              Lincoln, NE 68509

            If individuals have questions about the application, the number for the Department of Motor Vehicles is 402-471-3918.
