Grand Island, Neb. — The 2025 golf season is already underway in Grand Island, and city-owned Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island is entering the new season fresh off of a national nomination.
The longtime Grand Island golf staple was named a finalist for 59Club USA’s “Most Improved Golf Experience.” 59Club USA is a national leisure and hospitality analyst and training provider. Jackrabbit Run was one of only six courses nationally to be nominated for the award.
“It was a huge surprise,” Jackrabbit Run General Manager SaDonna Manfull said. “To be nominated as one of six in the entire nation as the most improved experience is just a huge honor.”
The other five finalists included Long Bay Golf Club (Longs, SC), Prairie Green Golf Course (Sioux Falls, SD), The Governors Club (Brentwood, TN), Westhaven Golf Club (Oshkosh, WI) and Whiskey Creek Golf Course (Fort Myers, FL).
While Jackrabbit Run didn’t win the award, they’re already a step up on making another run at it in 2025. The course completely replaced its entire golf course fleet with an improved fleet offering more capabilities including charging your phone or Bluetooth speaker (or both!) as you play.
“What an incredible celebration of excellence,” 59Club USA Director Mark Reed said at the award ceremony. “It’s a privilege to witness such passion and commitment to excel the customer experience across our affiliate properties.”
