On Saturday, January 30, a special Author Book Talk Event will be held at Edith Abbott Memorial Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Children’s Programming Room. The featured program is “Seldom Seen: A Journey into the Great Plains” by Patrick Dobson. This event is free and open to the public.
Dobson, a first-time author goes on a walkabout in the Great Plains. In May 1995, with nothing but a backpack and a vague sense of disquiet, Patrick Dobson left his home and a steady if deadening job in Kansas City, Missouri. Over the next two and a half months he made his way to Helena, Montana, letting chance encounters guide him to a deeper sense of who he was and where he was going.
Come journey with Dobson as he shares his stories and experiences of the “seldom-seen people of the small towns, the far-flung outposts, and the Great Plains.”
