Chuck Haase
Year Elected to Office and Number of Terms Served:
Chuck Haase was elected to the City Council for his 4th term in 2020. In 2014 Haase was elected and served as City Council President. In 2019 and 2020 Haase also serves as the Board President for the Central District Health Department.
Education and Background:
Haase received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Kearney State College.
Place of Employment:
Haase is a past board member and vice-chairman of the Nebraska Power Review Board (2013-2017). Haase worked for Charter Spectrum for 15 years and held several multi-state management positions, including Group Fiscal Operations Manager, Business Manager, then Fleet and Facilities Manager, including government affairs, retiring in 2015. Haase also served in the Army National Guard for over 22 years, serving locally in Columbus, Grand Island, Kearney and Lincoln, before retiring.
Community Activities and Organizations Currently Involved In:
Haase is a state committee member for Nebraska ESGR; a 40 year member of American Legion Post 263; and a member of the Nebraska Military Retiree Association.
Additional Involvement and Special Areas of Interest:
Chuck and his wife, Joyce, are members of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as the past treasurer, Board of Stewards, Usher, and Lay Reader. Chuck currently serves on the Trinity Lutheran Foundation Board of Directors.
Reason for Running for Public Office:
Haase supports the community success with effective economic development, conservative financial practice and public accountability. His experience and education is in Leadership, Finance & Accountability, and excellence in Customer Service. Haase desires to work for the citizens of Grand Island bringing growth and prosperity through openness, and good conservative government practices. Furthermore, Haase has a special interest in veteran's issues and improved family opportunities.
Family Members:
Haase, and his wife, Joyce, have been married for 42 years and are the proud parents of three adult daughters, three sons-in-law and 10 grandchildren.
