Local author Mark Miller will be at GIPL talking about his books and writing experience.
Mark Miller was an English teacher and coach at Grand Island Senior High School throughout the 1980s. He has compiled a book of fourteen short stories he wrote, entitled In Bright Sunshine. It is his first book. Mr. Miller coached basketball, track and cross country at Grand Island. He was the head coach in boys track and in girls and boys cross country. He has written most of his lifetime including stints as a sports reporter for a weekly newspaper and twenty-four years as a business writer promoting Nebraska public power. Through the years, Mr. Miller has won writing awards for short fiction, journalism and business writing. His new book includes stories about coming of age, romantic missteps and misadventures, "Nebraska" stories, as well as a sampling of science fiction. A father of three adult children, Mr. Miller is a graduate of Genoa High School, Wayne State College, and he holds a Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He looks forward to meeting former students and acquaintances from Grand Island and signing a few books.
