Laser cutting is a fabrication process that uses a thin, focused, laser beam to cut and etch materials into custom designs, patterns, and shapes as specified by the designer. This non-contact, thermal-based fabrication process is ideal for wood, glass, paper, metal and plastic. Students will use Corel Draw to create monogrammed wood coasters and use the laser to engrave coasters and cut them into a 4-by-4-inch size. Limit six students.
Cost: $5 for the class plus $5 for the set of four coasters
