Community Art Show

This non-juried show is open to all adult artists in Hall County.  There is no entry fee.

Registration is required.  Call or email Jeanne Simons at 308-385-5333 ext. 118 or jeannes@gilibrary.org to register or with any questions you may have.

Registration deadline: July 27, 2022

(This is just a confirmation of intent to participate, not the actual submission of artwork.)

Entry Forms

Please complete fill out the entry form for each piece of art; keep the claim slip portion and attach the other parts to your work before you drop it off.

PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY so we can properly include your information on the artists’ list.

All entrants must also sign the Waiver; the Library is not responsible for any damage or loss to work displayed. 

Exhibit Rules

  • Artists entering must be ages 18 or older as of August 1, 2022.
  • Each artist may submit up to two total entries for display at the Grand Island Public Library.  Artists should not submit any pieces shown at the Grand Island Public Library during the previous year.
  • Each entry can be any size up to 3’ x 3’ (for two-dimensional art) or 3’x3’x2’ (for three-dimensional art.)
  • All art entries must be prepared for hanging or display by the artist, including frames, hangers, etc.
  • All art entries will be photographed for inclusion on GIPL’s Virtual Community Art Show.
  • All art entries shall be available for the duration of the show unless previous arrangements have been made.
  • Art entries must not require access to electrical outlets.
  • Art entries must not require Library staff maintenance.
  • The Grand Island Public Library staff reserves the right to refuse any entry.
  • Art will be exhibited on a first come-first served basis.  If the Art Alcove is full, additional entries will not be accepted.
  • Art exhibited will not be for sale at the Library; prices will not be posted.  GIPL staff members will not be involved in any way in the sale of the exhibited items.  Contact information, such as business cards, can be left with the artwork.
The display will have:
  1. a sign posted which states, “The Grand Island Public Library does not necessarily endorse the views expressed in this display. To schedule a display with an opposing viewpoint, please call (308) 385-5333,” and
  2. a copy of the Library Bill of Rights -- both to be provided by the Library.

Artwork Submission

Please bring your artwork to the Library beginning Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 4 during regular business hours.

Retrieving Art Work

Your artwork must be picked up beginning October 2 during regular business hours.  Please present the claim slip when picking up artwork.  All artwork must be retrieved by October 7.

The Library is not responsible for artwork left past October 12, 2022.
