History of the Library with special guest Theodore Roosevelt presented by Dr. Doug Biggs and Michelle Setlik.
On April 27, 1903, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt broke the ground for Grand Island's first dedicated public library building. Dr. Biggs of UNK's History Department will bring President Roosevelt back to Grand Island for a reenactment of the speech he gave on that momentous day. Michelle Setlik of the Hall County Historical Society will provide a history of Grand Island's library from 1884 to present day.
