The Grand Island Community Youth Council would like to invite you to a special Planning Retreat to kick off the 2011-12 year.
Your attendance is imperative at this mandatory planning retreat.
Hamburgers and hot dogs provided by Jared and Randy! (Thanks guys!) Please bring a side dish or desert to share.
Items to bring:
1. Code of ethics - signed by CYC member and parent/guardian
2. Participation/Media Consent form - signed by ""
3. Your school and personal calendars/planners to sign up for meetings and such. If you don't have one, bring a blank one.
4. A written list of at least 2 ideas for EACH of the following areas you would like the CYC to do over the next year.
- events sponsored by the CYC (the CYC runs the show, start to finish)
- service projects for our community, state, nation, or the world (usually done with a partnering agency)
- events or ways for the CYC to get involved with local city government
Be creative, there are (almost) no bad ideas!!!
You will not be allowed to participate in the retreat or any CYC events until the signed code of ethics and parental consent forms have been turned in.
Rough Planning Retreat Agenda
- Welcome and ice breakers.
- Membership requirements and commitment to the CYC.
- Group and individual photos taken.
- Overview of the past year.
- Brainstorming and discussion of the new year.
- Committee sign-up.
