Grand Island Community Fieldhouse Opening Weekend
Community Fieldhouse to Hold 2012-13 Opening Event
Grand Island, Neb. —Only a month ago, the Community Fieldhouse building was home to thousands of Nebraska State Fair goers; and now that same facility, is being transitioned into an athletic complex which will be used by thousands of Nebraska athletes throughout the fall and winter months.
The city of Grand Island Community Fieldhouse, 525 E. Fonner Park Road, will soon be opening for the 2012-13 year. Residents are invited to a special Grand Opening event for the 2012-13 season on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 7, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Facility tours and refreshments will be available. During that weekend only, annual passes will be $5 off. Participants will be able to sign up for leagues, camps, and reserve indoor practice time.
League options include youth soccer, high school soccer, “Little Danger” flag football, indoor youth baseball, indoor youth softball, select team “Tune-Up” softball league, adult coed and women’s volleyball, adult men’s flag football, adult soccer, men’s basketball, indoor archery, and doubles indoor pickleball.
In addition, the turf field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, batting cages, meeting rooms, and kitchen facility are available to rent. In addition, the Fieldhouse is a perfect place to hold birthday parties, recognition events, or meetings, as special party packages are available.
Fieldhouse standard hours of operation for the season are:
-Monday through Friday1 to 10 p.m.
-Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Drop-in rates are:
-Children under the age of 2—free
-Children 2 to 4 years old—$2
-Youth 5 to15 years old—$3
-Adults 16 to 54 years old—$5
-Seniors 55 and older—$3
Annual pass rates, valid from Oct. 6 through April 28, are:
-Toddler Playground Pass ages 6 and under—$40
-Youth Facility Pass ages 5 to 15 years old—$60
-Student Facility Pass ages 16 to 18 years old with student ID—$80
-Adult Facility Pass ages 16 to 54—$100
-Senior Facility Pass ages 55 and up—\$60
