AGES- Guest author Dr. Jean Lukesh from 3-4:30 PM in Meeting Room ABC. Jean
Lukesh, is a Nebraska historian and 10-time National/International
Children’s/Young Adult Book Award Winner and she will share stories from her
two newest books: “Eagle of Delight:
Portrait of the Plains Indian Girl in the White House” (for ages
10-110.)This is the 4th book
in her Noteworthy Americans (Famous Nebraskans) quick reading biography series
that just received 3 GOLD Medal National/International Book Awards. This is the
true story of a teenage Otoe Indian girl from the Yutan Nebraska area who made
an amazing journey in 1821-1822. “My
Favorite Dog and Cat Story” is a humorous readers’ theater read-aloud story
and script for primary level readers or for dog and cat lovers of all
ages.Lukesh will have books to
autograph and sell.Patrons that attend
may enter for a drawing to win a Simple Touch Nook Reader. Refreshments will be
served.
