Meet Grand Island resident and former soldier, William Behrens and his daughter Carol Behrens Bell co-authors of “Soldier #37483425: Memories of WWII”. Behrens Bell will read excerpts from the book sharing stories from her father’s daily experience “brought up from a buried place after 67 years”.
Features writer to The New York Times, Cynthia Magriel Wetzler, writes “From the first moment Bill Behrens sits down and starts to tell his story about what it was like for a young farm boy from Nebraska to spend two years in the horrific war zones in France and Belgium during the last stretch of World War II, you will be there yourself.”
If you are a WWII Veteran, a family member of a Veteran, or a person interested in hearing about a young soldier’s experience as he took part in America’s push to end the Nazi advance in Europe, you will be sure to enjoy this special day and become part of this soldier’s experience.
Books are available for signing after the program.
