The Community Beautification Awards were created in 1973. This award is presented annually by the Hall County Regional Planning Commission to a business that has made special efforts to beautify the area where they operate.  Awards are presented to one business in the city of Grand Island and one from rural Hall County including the City of Wood River and the Villages of Alda, Cairo and Doniphan. Government or other tax supported entities are not eligible for the award but may be recognized for their efforts
