This project allowed for several improvements of the downtown 3rd Street and Wheeler Avenue intersection.  To make the intersection more pedestrian friendly bump outs were added, in addition to the installation of storm sewer and replacement of water main.  This project worked in conjunction with the attached park design as well.

The Diamond Engineering Co. of Grand Island, Nebraska was awarded the $424,952.17 construction contract on May 12, 2015, which included paving and water main work.  The project was completed on September 18, 2015 for a construction cost of $425,768.00.   Including engineering services, additional water main improvements and advertising the overall project cost was $490,732.05.
