Construction for continued curb ramp improvements is scheduled for Summer 2024.  This project is funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $195,000.00.

Curb ramps will be constructed at the following locations:

• Wheeler Avenue; 18th Street to 23rd Street
• Grace Abbott Park

The City of Grand Island has an on-going curb ramp program to upgrade public sidewalk ramps to conform to American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

On January 23, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-22, City Council approved the bid award of  Curb Ramp Project 2024-CR-2 CDBG to the The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska in the amount of  $172,445.25 .
