The North Road- US Highway 30 to Old Potash Highway Roadway Improvements; Project No. 2019-P-12 is for the improvement of North Road from just north of the intersection with US Highway 30 and the intersection with Old Potash Highway.  The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department is proposing a concrete curb and gutter roadway section with associated sidewalk, traffic control, drainage and all other related improvements needed to complete the project.

On October 22, 2019, via Resolution No. 2019-320, City Council approved an agreement with Alfred Benesch & Company of Lincoln, Nebraska for engineering services on a time and expense basis not to exceed $76,944.00.  Such agreement will provide conceptual design and cost estimate.

On June 9, 2020, via Resolution No. 2020-137, City Council approved Amendment No. 1 with Alfred Benesch & Company in the amount of $116,324.00 to include final design, right-of-way and easement acquisitions, utility coordination, and the bidding phase for North Road- US Highway 30 to Old Potash Highway Roadway Improvements; Project No. 2019-P-12.  Such amendment resulted in a revised agreement amount of $193,268.00.

On September 27, 2022, via Resolution No. 2022-266, City Council approved Amendment No. 2 with Alfred Benesch & Company in the amount of $226,521.00 to include the bidding phase and construction observation services of such project.

On October 11, 2022, via Resolution No. 2022-281, City Council approved the construction contract with The Diamond Engineering Company in the amount of $1,357,957.70.

On November 7, 2023, via Resolution No. 2023-289, City Council approved Change Order No. 1 with The Diamond Engineering Company, in the amount of $32,142.75, to rectify quantities of materials/work incorporated into this project.  Change Order No. 1 also allowed for a project completion extension from September 15, 2023 to June 1, 2024.
