The City is taking a proactive approach in rehabilitating sanitary sewer areas prior to any major failures.  This project will focus on several areas within the City.  It is believed that open cut excavation will be the solution as exiting pipe segments are in poor condition, with the majority of the locations under groundwater  Manhole rehabilitation may also be completed if needed to reinforce structural integrity. '

On January 9, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-9, City Council approved the bid of The Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska in the amount of $437,187.30.
