Plumbers Examining Board

Section 26-26 thru 26-34 of the Grand Island City Code establishes the duites of the Plumbers Examining Board. The purpose of the Plumbers Examining Board shall be to establishe standards and procedures for the qualification, examination, and licensing of master plumber and journeyman plumbers and shall issue appropriate license to each person who meets the qualifications thereof and successfully passes the examination given by the Examining Board.

The board consists of seven members, with terms expiring on December 31 of each year or until successors are named. The Chief Building Official shall act as Ex Officio member of the Board and act as secretary. One member shall represent the Board of Health, one member shall be a contracting master plumber, one member shall represent the general public and three members shall be a master or journeyman plumber. Members are appointed for two-year terms with no restrictions on the number of terms that can be served. Meetings are held as determined by the Board or called by the Chief Building Official.
