Grand Island, Neb. - It's one thing to say the City of Grand Island is community-minded with everything it does. It's another to actually go out and do it.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, Community Development Director Chad Nabity announced that he's concluded a fundraising effort by collecting canned goods to help out the Grand Island-area Salvation Army Food Bank.
With community support, he reached a collection goal of 500 items by hitting 750! What's even better - Thrivent Member Network's Nebraska chapter will match his donation with a $500 check to the Salvation Army food bank.
