Grand Island, Neb. — The City of Grand Island began plowing snow in the residential areas at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 12. Residents are reminded that snowplows may throw snow onto curb sidewalks and driveways.
The Street Department formally advises residents not to shovel curb sidewalks or driveways until the streets have been cleared of snow. Please move vehicles that are parked on the street so that snow can be removed from the roadway.
The Street Department also wants to remind residents that the Snow Emergency is still in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. The City of Grand Island appreciates your patience and cooperation while working to return public streets to a safe means of transportation.
