Curb Ramp Project No. 2019-CR-2-CDBG

Construction for continued curb ramp improvements is scheduled for Summer 2019.  This project is partially funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $145,500.00. 

Curb ramps will be constructed at the following intersections:

    • Market Street

  • Vine Street

    • Meves Avenue

    • Memorial Drive

    • Ashton Avenue

  • Oak Street & Bike Trail

  • Ashton Avenue

    • Plum Street

    • Memorial Drive

    • Maple Street

    • Cherry Street

  • Memorial Drive

    • Joehnck Road

    • Cherry Street

  • Meves Avenue & Plum Road

  • Joehnck Road

    • Meves Avenue

    • MacArthur Avenue

  • Cherry Street

    • Meves Avenue

    • MacArthur Avenue

    • Martin Avenue

The City of Grand Island has an on-going curb ramp program to upgrade public sidewalk ramps to conform to American with Disabilities Act (ADA).  

On April 9, 2019 City Council awarded the construction agreement to Galvan Construction, Inc. of Grand Island, Nebraska in the amount of $152,212.00.

On September 10, 2019 City Council approved a Certificate of Final Completion for Curb Ramp Project No. 2019-CR-2 CDBG with Galvan Construction, Inc. in the amount of $141,451.72, and additional project expenses of $14,006.25; resulting in a total project cost of $155,457.97.
