Chapter 17 of the Grand Island City Code allows for the transportation of garbage and/or refuse within the City of Grand Island. All permits expire on September 30, of each year. City Council approval is required for new applications and renewals. The following information is required for a Garbage Haulers Permit Application:

List of Vehicles
Certificate of Insurance
Performance Bond – Garbage Haulers Only
License Fee: Garbage - $250; Refuse - $100
Appointment of Resident Agent, if applicable
Equipment Inspection/Certificate from Health Department
