Sanitary Sewer Collection System Breaks

The City of Grand Island has approximately 230 miles of gravity sanitary sewer, some of which is upwards of 75 years old.  Inevitably, breaks in pipes occur and it's the duty of the Grand Island Sanitary Sewer Collection team to identify and repair them.  However, sometimes the damage is to extensive to be repaired through the City's own means, necessitating a more robust approach.  This project seeks to repair some of the most egregious broken pipes in the City.  The damaged pipes will be excavated then restored to functionality using modern materials.

Major line breaks have occurred in four (4) locations:

  • 321 Holcomb Street

  • 2204 S Locust Street

  • 2417 Apache Street

  • 2110 N Huston Avenue
