Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation; Project No. 2024-S-3

The City is taking a proactive approach in rehabilitating sanitary sewer areas prior to any major failures.  This project will focus on an area north of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks in the area around Broadwell Avenue, as well as south of the UPRR tracks in the area of South Locust Street, as shown on the attached exhibit.  The pipe segments are mostly 8-inch pipe.  Spot locations will be evaluated for sanitary sewer rehabilitation, with the thought that cured in place pipe (CIPP) will be the ideal solution as existing pipe segments are mostly within constricted areas, however other solutions may be considered.  Manhole rehabilitation may also be completed if needed to reinforce structural integrity.

On May 21, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-124, City Council approved Olsson, Inc. of Grand Island, NE to perform engineering consulting services in the amount of $158,750.00.
