Crews have been working in the Downtown Area clearing and hauling snow since 4 am this morning. There is still a parking ban for this area until noon today.

Street crews started clearing Snow Emergency Routes, again, beginning at 4:00 am this morning. Salting crew is in the process of treating these main roadways.

Residential areas are being cleared today starting this morning. Please wait to clear your sidewalk and driveway until the plows have went by. Also, please move any vehicles parked on the street so that the streets may be cleared fully.

Snow Alert/Emergency and Snow Emergency Route Parking Ban is still active until 7 pm tonight (Tuesday, Feb 18).

DOWNTWON SNOW REMOVAL AND PARKING BAN NOTICE

 The City of Grand Island will be clearing and hauling snow in the Downtown area overnight tonight. 

Businesses in the Downtown Areas should have sidewalks cleared before the hauling operation begins.

To facilitate the snow clearing and hauling operation, parking on the Downtown Area streets listed below will be prohibited between:

 12 am (midnight) on Wednesday, February 19, 2025

 and

 12 pm (noon) on Wednesday, February 19, 2025

Due to the active Winter Weather Advisory published by the National Weather Service and the forecast for more snow tonight and tomorrow, the current Snow Emergency is being extended until 7pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

Snow Alert/Emergency and Snow Emergency Route Parking Ban is still active

and has been extended until 7 pm tomorrow (Tuesday, February 18).

Parking on streets designated as Snow Emergency Routes is prohibited during this time.

Street crews started clearing Snow Emergency Routes around 4 am this morning. Due to the extended snow period forecasted by the National Weather Service there may be several rounds of plowing Snow Emergency Routes needed over the next two days.

All on-street parking in the downtown area (including 4th Street) is banned between 4 am and 12 pm (noon) on Monday, January 6, 2025 to facilitate this operation. Below is the list of streets in which this applies.
