Grand Island City Council approved ordinance No. 9593 on July 26, 2016, this ordinance imposed a 5% occupation tax on telephone and telecommunication sales within the city limits effective September 1, 2016. LB1023 was adopted in 2024 that lowered the maximum to 4%.
