Pink Patch

Grand Island, Neb. — For a 10th-straight year, several Grand Island Police Department officers will be sporting the color pink during the month of October in a coordinated law enforcement effort to fight breast cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and officers will be wearing pink patches to support women and families battling breast cancer by raising awareness.

“You are very fortunate if you or someone you know hasn’t been impacted one way or another by breast cancer,” GIPD Chief Kevin Denney said. “By wearing pink patches in October, it’s our way of helping in the fight while also supporting those in need throughout the Grand Island community.”
